Coal Tattoo
I get a message
Everywhere I go
Pick up the paper; I can't escape it
It's in the voices of these angles in my
Telephone. And they whisper
Listen closer, listen closer, as they fade
I reached the corner and get cornered
By the reverand high;
Snake Eyes
As I shake his hand of stone
He spits at me a black wind
Through his beard of burning fire
He says;
"The streets all shine with fear."
He sees blueprints across the sky
The Signs have let him know
Just then the wind begins to rise as if to say it's so
Something's moving
In the twilight
Listen closer
Listen closer
Til it fades
Elevator take me down
Back into that black hole
I am a coal blue minor, born with this coal tattoo
I'd rather wave my arms in the dark
And stumble from room to room
Digging down deeper dig down deeper dig down deep
Until I follow the vien that runs to heart of fear
I can hear it
Nearer and nearer, clearer and clearer
It's in the voices of these angles in my
Telephone. And they whisper
Listen closer,
"You wanted some answers; you better write this down."
"Take a long look back, it's a long way back."
"But don't look now, it's a long way down
But don't look down
No matter how deep you dig
No matter how far you run
What you left behind lies waiting,
Where you're bound."
Take a long look back
It's a long way back, it's a long way
Out
