From Me to You

I can hear the train that’s comming
I listen to the rails I can hear them humming. I think I know which way its going
rumblin through the night, horns top side blowing.
It’s a tune that works on my memory
a blues that moves my mood
its coming back to me.
Yesterdays are filled with sorrow,
but I can feel the power in tomorrow.
Nothing’s going to stop it as it flys along the track
it’s hissing and it’s steaming, and it’s never going back
to when I thought I loved you, now I know I do.
I’ve been listening to the rails
and they run from me to you.

The sky is clear and the moon is bright.
The moon ignites the rails across the countryside.
They stretch for miles then they disappear.
They run back to the reason I’ve been waiting here.
This time I think I sit still and wait,
to watch love cross the distances that we create.
I know that train is going to run tonight,
and reach across this emptiness I feel inside.
Nothings going to stop it as it flys along the tracks.
It’s twisting and its turning but its never going back
to when I thought I loved you, well now I know I do.
I’ve been listening to the rails
and they run from me to you.

Soaring through the midnight comes a blue refrain,
it seems to know how loss creates the chance to gain.
To feel it makes this life worth living
as it runs between the taking and the giving.
I know that train is going to run for sure,
and bring a love that’s destine to endure.
Nothings going to stop it as it flys along the track.
I lost my ticket long ago guess I’m never going back.
I may have never loved you, but now I know I do,
as I reach out to hold these thoughts
that run from me to you.
